Position Overview
– 275 new breast surgery cases per annum; Endocrine caseload: 180, General caseload: 60
– 60 Oncoplastic cases per year, Level 1 and 2.
– Autologous flap breast reconstruction is also performed by the Plastic surgery team at the LMH and QEH, with potential for fellow involvement in those cases.
– Excellent endocrine surgical experience.
– 1 x GSET registrar on the unit
BreastScreen
– Quarterly BreastScreen Attendance
Meetings
– Monthly Morbidity and mortality meetings
– Quarterly unit meetings
– Annual Breast/Endocrine Surgery Unit Audit
Breast Oncoplastic Surgery:
Yes - Therapeutic Mammaplasty | Licap Flap
Breast Reconstruction Surgery:
Yes - Prepec implant +/- mesh | Subpec implant
General and Other Surgery:
General and endocrine surgery with thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery
Breakdown of hours:
1 in 6 general surgery after hours on call roster.
Private Consulting:

MDT:
Weekly Breast Cancer MDT, Monthly Endocrine MDT
Academic & Research:
Fellows are encouraged to undertake breast cancer related research early in their training year.
Funded:
1 year FTE role commencing early February 2027
Salary:
Position Classification: MDP3, Level 2G. Allowances/loadings: Retention, overtime and leave loading and other allowances as required by law. This is a fully funded one (1) year Full Time Equivalent role.
